What can I do to it to speed it up. I am not very good on computers so if you suggest something like clear off something on the C drive you might give me some helpful hints on how to actually do that. I just tried to defragment it but it said I didnot have enough memory on my c drive to do that. Please help I hate calling my brother for advice!

If you don't have enough space to defragment, you probably need to free up disk space by deleting stuff you don't need.

Do you know how to delete a file?

If you do, what you need to do is go through and delete a lot of files that you don't need.

Start by clearing the cache on your browser, if you are using IE , click on tools in the menu bar and then click on Options in the dropdown menu and then click on the Delete Files button. That will clear a lot of files to begin with.

If you are using Firefox, click on Tools, then options, then privacy, and then on the clear cache button.

On the drfrag, you may actually have enough space to defrag but you have too many filenames for the defrag software to handle it. I had trouble with this when I tried to defrag my drive a while back, I had lots of space on C but it kept giving me the same message you are getting. I finally figured out that there were too many files for defrag to handle it (I run Windows ME at home). So I started deleteing files and running defrag and finally I got to the point where defrag would work.

OH and don't forget to clear the recycle bin after you delete the files. If you don't you havent really deleted the files, just moved them to a different directory, the recycle directory.

Good luck

I just had to defrag my work computer, it was so messed up that it has taken 3 days to get it straight.
