Not sure how it ended up on the recruting board, I thought I had posted it on the Hoops board. My excitement must have gotten the best of me....

I went 4 years ago and had a blast. KU fans hold a special place for me after our trip there.

We went to some bar after the game maybe the Yacht Club or something and they had a replica of the scoreboard from their 1988 National Title. That was cool. I wonder if they replaced it with the 2008 score.....

By the way, the game isn't for another month so I hope your flight isn't for this weekend. ;-)

Not for this weekend, I just made the decision to go yesterday when I saw how cheap flights were and my best friend's little cousin (who is a senior at KU) assured me he could get tickets when they go on sale in a couple of weeks.

I've always wanted to go to a basketball game there and since he will be graduated by the time we return to Lawrence I figure this may be my only shot.

I went two times and loved it both times.

The last time I went was with my wife (girl friend at the time) and I knew I was getting into a different world on that trip.

I brought along a pair of underwear, socks, a horns t-shirt, and toiletries. I called her up and told her that she could use the other half of my backpack I wasn't using (we were driving over that night, going to the game at noon and driving back). She thanked me but said she had her own bags packed already. I went to pick her up and she had a full suitcase and an over the shoulder bag for her stuff.

I was mystified. I now know better.

I saw 2 games that were close for a half. Missed out on a couple of barn burners. TJ's trip up there and Durant's trip up there were both game of the year nominees (maybe winners) if I recall correctly.

Should be fun. I think we win this time. Enjoy yourself.
