MWC and Conf USA to Merge

The Mountain West and Conf USA plans to merge and form a 22 team league. Damn this is out of control. UH, SMU, and Rice should probably look elsewhere unless they like racking up travel points on the miles they will be flying.

It does make sense in the sense that the new conference has a pretty good chance of taking The Big East's AQ away or barring that, earning their own.

Mashing two dozen weakish football schools together does not make for a superconference. If Boise State leaves, what school would this combined conference have that was a consistent Top 25 team? Even with 22 teams, I bet their TV contract(s) would be worth less than what the 10-school Big 12 gets now. Sounds like a desperate move for survival if you ask me.
