Must see sick video of Aaron Green

This is some of the best video I've seen of any underclass runningback. This kid reminds me of Johnny Bailey from Houston Yates back in 1983-85. He was unstoppable, and thats what Green looks like.

Flashes of Eric Metcalf wearing the #2. Would like to see him sporting the #2 here if he keeps that level of speed and elusiveness up.

The only reason the kid averages 10 yards per carry is because many times, he just can't run any more, he's in the end zone. if he played on a CFL field his average would be even higher. He's sick.

The one thing I can't get out of my head is that all these fantastic highlights have come from just 4 games cause that's all the varsity games he has played in.

imagine what his highlights are going to look like after he finished his sophomore year.

We have banks in Austin. What does his mom do for a living?

Playing varsity 5A as Sophomore is pretty brutal for a 15 year old. I know kids are like rubber and all, but that's a lot of hits for someone who is still growing. I just hope his HS coaches take care of him.

Hi Wasatch.

I missed this game, sorry to say. I like seeing Madison beat up on Churchill.

Green is a good back. He's a sophomore, so the rules that apply when evaluating him are a little different. I wouldn't expect him to be extremely well-rounded (run, catch, block) for example.

Still, he shows really great potential and he comes from a family of very good athletes who keep their noses clean. The things that I can clearly say about him at this juncture are:
1) He is fast to the corner;
2) He is better than competent at blocking;
3) He NEVER looks petulant or frustrated on the field or sideline;
4) He has tons of potential for a soph.

Also, his OL is pretty average, as well as small. I was a small OL myself, so I hate to knock them for that alone. Madison really hasn't had much of an inside running game because they are sort of weak up the middle. That obviously means that they have to do a lot of damage on the corners and Green helps them do that.

Green is exciting, but the WR on the team, Nate Askew, is physically impressive and has great hands. He is a JR and wiull get some press next year for certain. I don't know what sort of speed he has (40 time), but he rarely drops anything at all. Sometimes I wonder why they throw it to anybody else, ever. He has a big frame, and I wouldn't be surprised to see somebody at the D-1 level make him a pass-catching TE at some point.

damn he glides out there..real light on his feet..doesn't seem to lose an acceleration on cuts..wow

thanks for posting

Well it looks like Green is officially on the Texas radar

Applewhite takes in SA Madison vs SA Lee

Madison's Green, Williams storm past Lee

Racing down the sideline for another long gain Thursday, Madison sophomore Aaron Green almost knocked over a man in a black jacket as he ran out of bounds.

Aaron Green, meet Major Applewhite.

Applewhite, Texas' assistant head coach and running backs coach, watched the No. 3 Mavericks roll to a 47-14 over Lee before 2,343 at Comalander Stadium.

“I thought that was Applewhite,” Green said. “I've always seen him on TV, but I don't know why he was here. I hope he enjoyed it.”

Green rushed for 97 yards and two touchdowns while sophomore fullback Troy Williams had 111 yards and added a score.

Madison's first-team offense put on a show for Applewhite, scoring on all five of its possessions before it was taken out midway through the second quarter with a 34-0 lead.

When Alex Montgomery returned a punt 70 yards for a TD midway through the third quarter, Madison (7-1, 5-1 District 26-5A) had a 47-0 lead and Applewhite had seen enough.

Green's play of the night was an 8-yard TD run in the second quarter. He started to the right but found nothing. So he retraced his steps to the line of scrimmage, avoided a Lee defender, then ran left to the end zone.

He also scored on a 20-yard run in the first quarter and finished with nine carries.

Green now has 1,453 yards and 20 TDs for the season, passing Clark's Jock Tilghman (1,451 yards) to become the area's leading rusher. Clark is off this week.

Madison quarterback Leo Gutierrez suffered a right shoulder injury on Madison's opening drive, but later returned and threw a 9-yard TD pass to Chris Doring.

“The trainers said my shoulder popped out of the socket but went back in when I hit the ground,” Gutierrez said. “I felt good throwing on the sidelines so I went back in the game.”

Backup quarterback Kevin Cortez ran for a TD and threw one to Alex Montgomery.

The Mavericks defense also did its part, holding Lee (2-6, 1-5) to 43 first-half yards. Senior Tyler James also recovered a Volunteers fumble.

Madison was coming off a 44-21 victory over Churchill where the Mavericks had three turnovers in the first three minutes. Mavs coach Jim Streety said starting strong was the focus this week, and Madison had a 20-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.

“We weren't happy at all last week,” Green said. “This time, we had to be ready.”

It looks like his video was taken down from the youtube site (most likely to be updated) but I searched for more video of him and found this site it looks like he has posted some pictures on it and there is video as well.
