MSNBC and the 2000 election

It was 2000 Bush vs Gore election night. 4 hours before the voting booths closed in Florida only the precincts that was known to be heavy democratic was starting to come in. MSNBC announced Florida a win for Gore. I believe this was an attempt to keep voters home due to it being over. Of course the other stations were questioning this announcment by MSNBC. Of course as the other known precincts known for Bush was coming in it showed it so close that it couldn't be called that night. We know what happened from there.

Considering that MSNBC is an arm of NBC, they will both be making similar declarations...The 5 National Networks are part of a National Election Pool; thus, they all get the SAME results given to them.
