My version of XP at work has bunches of available fonts. Maybe 75.

My version of XP at home has only a few, maybe 20.

Is there an add-in that needs to be executed on the latter to get the additional fonts???

You may have two different versions of word. But as far as increasing your font selection, You can download whatever font you are looking for and drop it in your fonts folder within windows and it will show up in your word list. Free fonts are all over the internet.

The fonts folder is usually under c:windowsfonts or something similar.

you may try putting your installation CD back in and when you install it, click on the top icon in the tree and select 'run all from my computer'. Sometimes an installation doesn't install all the fonts. If that doesn't work then follow the above posters advice and just download them. I think you might even be able to download them on Microsoft's office update website.

To clarify, Windows manages your fonts, not your applications. Many applications come with fonts, and they may or may not get installed with the application, depending on the installation options you choose. You can buy also font packages separately, and several are available online for free.

To install new fonts manually from font files, open the "Fonts" applet in your control panel, and select "Install New Font..." from the "File" menu. You will then be able to browse to the new font files that you want to install.
