MS Outlook Question

I have a personal contact address book that I can see as a sub folder in Outlook view mode. When I go to actually go to e-mail someone in this personal contacts sub folder, it does not drop down as an option. Any ideas?

Not sure I understand completely what your issue is but try this:

Click on your inbox to get you to the email part of outlook

next click on new to open up an untitled new message

Click the To button to bring up the default address book you have set up to open when you do that.

Now, if your contact list is not that default you can hit the down arrow in the upper right part of the window. If you scroll down far enough you should be able to find your particular contact list that you have set up.

If not , if that doesn't get you what you need, try and describe exactly what you are clicking on to get to the point where you can't see the drop down you want.

Another good option is to use the index or answer wizard of outlook help. It covers just about anything you could want to know about outlook if you use the right words to search for the answers.

Good luck. Let me/us know if you get your fix and how you did it por favor.

Thanks. Still no luck. In Contacts, I can see the Personal address book set up with all the e-addresses. But when i go to the To button to send an e-mail, the Personal address book does not show as an option by scrolling down. Very strange.

What does it say, as your default item, in the dropdown menu on the window that pops up after clicking "To" as described above?

When you click tools, services, is "outlook address book" listed?

From outlook, if you right click on your contacts folder, then properties, then click the outlook address book tab, is the checkbox checked for : "show this folder as an e-mail address book"?

If not click it to add the check then click the apply button.
That will add those particular contacts to the contacts drop down list. Setting them as the default may take some more steps.
