On the contrary, the anti-oil idiots in the West are probably working for Putin and China.

The decision of the West to unilaterally stomp on its fossil fuel and nuclear energy industries to appease idiots like Greta Thunberg is one of the most profoundly and titanically stupid things I've ever seen governments do. Furthermore, that stupidity is on full display with the energy problems the West is now facing. It should massively discredit the idiots, and they should never be listened to again, but we're too dumb to expect accountability for the fact that we're all taking it in the garage every time we get gas or in my part of the world, buy heating oil.

It's every US institution at this point. I don't think the problem is "those people over there". The problem is Marxists which were supported with positions and large salaries by the US government, industrial organizations, and NGOs. The problem is home grown Marxism 3.0, and we did it to ourselves.

Look at what is happening in the Netherlands. It goes way beyond hatred of oil. It is hatred of civilization.

No specific source, but I hear that—in a move based on pragmatic necessity— Euros have just re-classified natural gas and nuclear as “green” energy.

The government is restricting use of fertilizers because of "green" policy. The farmers are protesting all over the country, dumping manure on government buildings, blocking streets, etc. The police are pulling farmers out of tractors and jailing them. It's a mess. The Dutch government is making arbitrary laws that will starve people to death.

I"m going to cross-post some Sri Lanka related stuff on the High Inflation thread that I just posted. Sri Lanka just tried this. It was an utter disaster.

Europe's energy crisis to get worse this winter. Link. It's still amazing to me that nobody is questioning the green energy scam. Countries like Germany shut down their old domestic energy industries because they were supposed to be getting their energy from wind and solar. If that wasn't BS, then why is it such a big disruption for Russia to cut off oil and gas?
 
The Dutch government has collapsed. Part of it has to do with immigration, but undoubtedly some of it has to do with farmers. They've had enough of the government's crap.

I have slightly followed what is happening to the Dutch farmers. If I hadn't read it from reputable sources I wouldn't have believed a supposed government which is like UK is mostly of the people could do something that which is hurting the people.
but Duh I look at our government and we do the same thing.
 
Guess I wouldn't make it as Dutch PM. I might propose only migration for workers for 5 years to get a grip on who has already entered the country.

It's like the US government on several issues on which most people disagree with it. If an interest is entrenched enough, it doesn't care what the public wants. What's sad is that Rutte was from the Dutch center-right party. They should know better.
