My question is how would you really get caught. Obviously your IP address is visible, which can be traced back to the ISP. Are ISPs letting the MPAA know who was using that IP address at that time? And how can they prove who actually committed the crime? Anyone who has access to that internet connection could be the person. If my car is involved in a drive-by shooting, I'm not responsible for the shooting.
I don't see how the MPAA can prove this unless they find the movie on someone's PC. Are these suits more to scare people than to punish someone?
