Any one have a recomendation on a cheap mp3 player I can purchase that isnt cumbersome when running or maybe just some good ear phones/buds that I can buy that stay in the ears and eliminates the problems I have with the wires getting pulled out or tangled...

I've always been happy with these.

I run the cable under my shirt to the ipod clipped on my shorts. No tangles.

I just started using an old iriver ifp 89x series that came with what I believe is a very good armband and case for jogging. If you are happy with the performance and mounting of your current, you might want to try the headphones in the post above. I might be trying the headphones from the post above. Good Luck.

I might look into the sansa if its small enough. I think I need to clip it to front or back of neckline on shirt. I figure that is the best way to avoid tangles and having them pulled out. Ive tried rigging under my shirt, and putting the mp3 player in my pocket ....but no luck.

The 4 gig is great, with the new 'smart' headphones and the 1000 song capacity. They also still offer the Gen 2 model, which holds 240 songs.

You have a choice, an iPod Shuffle or something else. Save yourself some money and just get the Shuffle right off the bat because that's what you'll end up with whether you buy it first or last.

I prefer the Sansa Clip. It has a display, FM radio, and is not Apple. Winner.

Ended up with the older ipod shuffle. Ran a few miles yesterday with it and it does the job.
