Moving to London in May - Need Advice

A friend of mine is moving to London this May, and has a few questions that I thought a few of you might be able to help with.

She is a young professional, mid-20's, single female.

First off, any general advice for someone moving to London?

Which parts of the city would you recommend living in?

Where are the good (non-touristy) areas for dining, shopping, public parks and of course good pubs?

If anyone happens to know friends looking for roommates around May, I would appreciate their contact info.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers!

I am a mid-20s female and have lived in London for over a year now. PM me and I'll give you my email address to pass along to her.

Depends on what kinda area she wants, where she is going to be working, how much she wants to pay for rent, how long a commute (depending on her job location) that she is prepared to deal with.

Get more details and I can let you know.

Maybe it's because I'm a Londoner....
