Moving internet

I'll be moving next week. I currently have basic cable internet through Time Warner. Do I have to schedule a service call for Time Warner to come set up my internet? Or can I just hook the equipment up myself and call to have it activated?

I'm pretty sure I can handle plugging the modem into the wall on my own, and I'd hate to have to pay for someone to come do such a trivial task.

I should have worded this differently. Does Time Warner insist on sending somebody out? Or do they allow you to set it up yourself? Because either way, eventually I have to call them and tell them to turn on service at my new address.

I ask because it seems like I've had problems like this before, but I can't remember what ended up happening.

If I remember correctly, once the cable was turned on at my new house I was just able to plug the modem in and go.
