Movie rec - Cabrini

Vino Bevo

Wine - how classy people get drunk
My wife and I went and saw Cabrini last night and I enjoyed it so much I felt compelled to post a quick note here as I'm not sure many have heard of it or are aware of its release. It tells the story of the first American-resident saint, Frances Xavier Cabrini, and her impact on not only New York City around the turn of the century, but on the world as a whole. For those of you who might hesitate to watch a "religious" or even "in your face Catholic" movie (which a non-Catholic friend of mine jokingly said before seeing it with us last night), rest assured it is neither. It presents a true story about an amazing individual that contains numerous life lessons and goose-bump moments that we can all benefit from, regardless of your belief system or lack thereof.

I encourage you to give it a try because Hollywood doesn't get it this right much these days. And no, I'm not receiving any royalties - just freakin' loved the movie and want others to enjoy if they might do the same. My non-Catholic friend loved it as well by the way...

I plan to see it. If not on the big screen, then when it comes out streaming.

That woman surely deserved a better housing project named for her than the notorious Cabrini Green.
