Movers Question

I am about to move from south Austin up to Round Rock, and I was wondering if anyone had a recent experience with an inexpensive moving service. They don't need to do anything fancy, like pack my stuff. I just want someone who isn't me to carry all my stuff down stairs and into my new place. I figured I'd do better getting advice here than just picking one at random in the yellow pages. Thanks in advance for your advice.

I just wanted to say that anyone who needs the services of a mover should contact Put Simms In. His company did an excellent job moving my stuff, for a very good price. His movers worked hard, were very nice, and treated all of my fragile items with great care.

The best thing you can do is call about six places and get estimates, then see who is willing to beat the lowest price you got. PM me if you want the names of some movers that I recommend to my customers, and I'll be happy to help out!

Durk...
Some companies may not be willing to beat the lowest price because they offer a quality service. You have to watch out for guys that will change there rates at the drop of a hat. Always make sure guys like that are insured and bonded and are a trustworthy company. Some may do it because they just have that certain time slot and date available and want to fill it but some are struggling to fill those spots for a reason.
