Most Transparent Administration Ever

Of the 204 new Obamacare waivers President Barack Obama’s administration approved in April, 38 are for fancy eateries, hip nightclubs and decadent hotels in House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s Northern California district.

That’s in addition to the 27 new waivers for health care or drug companies and the 31 new union waivers Obama’s Department of Health and Human Services approved.

Pelosi’s district secured almost 20 percent of the latest issuance of waivers nationwide, and the companies that won them didn’t have much in common with companies throughout the rest of the country that have received Obamacare waivers.

Other common waiver recipients were labor union chapters, large corporations, financial firms and local governments. But Pelosi’s district’s waivers are the first major examples of luxurious, gourmet restaurants and hotels getting a year-long pass from Obamacare.

I guess when it is all said and done, if you are a (FOO), friend of obama, you get a waiver, if not, you have to pay for it. I have a simple question, if the plan is so great, why are people trying to get waivers?

Just out of curiousity, what did your post have to do with the topic 'administrative transparency'?

It was a joke, the current administration has made a point of saying they are the most transparent administration in history. Political transparency has to do with holding government officials accountable and fighting corruption. This admininstration is certainly corrupt, but there is no accountability. You see small mentions of it in papers and such, but it is never brought out to the public in force. Anyway, that's it.

Do you remember when the final healthcare bill was posted on the internet for 5 days before it was presented for a vote?

Did the Obama admin ( or anyDem, but it was Obama who was pushing this to the people)explain there would be waivers granted for obamacare before it passed? Did the Obama Admin explain to all American businesses how to obtain a waiver?
To the average person could there seem to be a connection between Obama and the businesses/ orgs getting waivers?

The democrats will claim the waiver is for only 1 year. I disagree, a restaurant running on a thin margin isnt going to be able to get its ducks in a row in a year to be able to afford this. It will cripple all small business.

most of these 1300 or so waivers( so far, final count isn't in) are for a year
well unless they get renewed, any guesses on how many would get renewed if Obama is still in office?

but your question is a good one. IF this obamacare was so great and was going to save us all why does the admin need to give waivers?

Edit to add
IF , as we see, so many companies have been given waivers maybe the obamacare bill should have had some transparency BEFORE it was rammed through and perhaps this issue could have been addressed.

and for anyone excusing these waivers does it say in the waiver that it can't be renewed?

I would like to see the recipient list of politcal donations of the companies and businesses that have been given waivers so far

Yo, I couldn't help noticing that the link doesn't show who was turned down for a waver. Also, to be fair, I'm not sure how linking the White House's response is any less partisan or one-sided in discussing the issue as linking a partisan right-wing source.

After all... I'm pretty sure the White House is on board with the program regardless of any issues it may have, right?

So these 1327( so far) waivers can be renewed every year until 2014. If Obama is still in office anyone think he wouldn't allow waiver renewals after 2014?

Were these waivers EVER mentioned before the ramming through of obamacare?
Is there a limit on the number of waviers obama can issue?

Did Pelosi ask the CBO to estimate how issuing these waviers affect obamacare?

Why isn't there a list from the most transparent admininstration EVAH of companies who have been turned down?

IRC I admit that link you posted was good for a laugh.

Almost as much fun as when in March obama accepted an award for transparency in a closed undisclosed place

and almost as much as this from last week"“I think there are discussions, even about transparency and developing rules about transparency that we need to be able to have quietly and behind closed doors.” – Daniel Gordon, White House staff

You can't make this chit up

WE can add the ENTIRE state of Nevada to the list of entities getting waivers from implementing " certain requirments" of obamacare. The Link

Question to obamites? IF every state ,every business, every union and everyone get waivers is it still a bill?
