Most likely headed to Moscow for business in the next couple of months. Will be there for about a week. Not much weekend time though. If I am able to break away to see some things, aside from Kremlin, Red Square (anything I can get from googling what to do in Moscow) any recommendations for sights, shopping or eating that I should try to do if the opportunity arrives?

When I was there I went to a lot of museums. The Tretyakov, and Pushkin art museums. I enjoyed Victory park too. It is basically the military museum. You can find a pretty interesting choice of restaurants on the Arabat. Take a comfortable pair of shoes. You will most likely do a lot more walking than you are used to there.

Don't mean to worry you but have US cash on hand in case you get shaken down by cops. Keep your papers properly stamped (don't take it for granted that everything was properly taken care of). If you're there around Hitler's birthday (April 20th) keep a low profile as skinheads like to harass, beatup, or even kill random foreigners.

May should have some terrific weather. They may still do weather seeding around holidays in Russia and that can result in some awesome sunshine filled weeks. I remember having to pay for (dirty) public restrooms (like much of Europe). Carry your own emergency toilet paper/tissues.

Don't remember specifics but the museums were all interesting. The food and produce people bring in from out of the city can be unreal. In fact the food in general was pretty damn awesome everywhere. Saw the Bolshoi circus and is was better than I expected.

One thing I found hilarious was places often charged a price for tourists and a separate (much lower) fee for locals.

Don't forget to have your passport with you when walking around, if you dont' have it and the cops ask for it, you'll be in a tight spot.
