Morningstar?

Who uses morningstar for their financial research and how have you done? Recommend? Worth the money? Do you just trust their data and go with 5 star ratings?
I've done my own research over 5 years ago on around 20+ stocks, Apple, Exxon & Toyota were some of those 20 and for whatever reason I elected to buy something else and I pretty much only broke even over a 3 year time.

I use Morningstar and Smartmoney to research mutual funds and just for their investment articles. However, I never paid for a premium subscription. As far as the 5-star rating, I look at the rating, but like anything else, it is not a guarantee. I mainly just look for funds with small expense ratios and that have a solid 10-year return (or longer).
