The Dallas Morning News covered small-scale voter fraud in Dallas County, but that had to do with registered voters claiming to live at a different address. I think the voter ID law will require some extra effort from people who don't have a car and the usual reasons to pay for a government-issued voter ID and I know it takes a lot more time and hassle to get an ID is south Dallas than it does here in Lewisville. But compared to the brave marchers who faced police dogs, tear gas and batons from those who would disenfranchise them 50 years ago, 2 hours at the DMV is a manageable obstacle to pay for the right to vote . Democracy isn't going to work for complete wimps. If I were a Democratic activist, I would use this Republican-induced "hassle" to my advantage, galvanizing a sense of purpose into those would-be voters pundits expect to be kept away from the polls.
As far as Fox News, it is sad that when they report real news it doesn't get a serious look from a lot of us. I avoid the channel because I'm irritated by hyperpartisan BS. Since I only catch the channel on a flyby every now and then, can a Fox fan suggest a good program for me to watch to get a different perspective on serious news? Something likely to stimulate my cerebral cortex, not my adrenal gland?
