More aggy reaction to UT television deal

The amount of attention aggy is getting from all this noise is probably giving $Bill a boner.

GROSS!!!

Humm... I guess I never thought about using the network as a recruiting tool, but I suppose that you could.

We're fortunate to be on the cutting edge here. It's making aggy very nervous and blowu is already formulating their own plans. We've started an arms race. I suspect all the big schools will eventually have their own networks, especially when the first budding superstar recruit tells a coach that he/she wants to attend a school with a TV network.

We've started an arms race? At the next Big XII meeting, DeLoss could pound his shoe on the table and shout, "We will bury you!"

So... the statement I keep hearing is that A&M wants to do whats best for A&M. Does this mean that Texas didn't do whats best for Texas. Since when is Texas supposed to look out for any other university other than itself. Seems like poor Aggie is taking this TV deal very personal and envious that their University and athletic program is not perceived in the same light as Texas. Do what you got to do A&M to feel relevant. Leave for the SEC.... I Triple Dog Dare you!!!!

aggy sounds like the petulant child who threatens to take "my toys and go home." So would going to the SEC get aggy a TV deal? Would running away give the a better chance at...being better?

Everything I read "from the outside"is just filled with green-eyed envy. If someone knocked on my front door and offered me $1mil to answer phones half a day, you don't think I wouldn't take it? Oh, I shouldn't even consider because it might make someone else feed badly....

I am not buying this recruiting advantage thing....if you are already on TV, for instance, 11 out of 12 games and say a Baylor or a Kansas are televised maybe 3 or 4 times, don't you already have a recruiting advantage (according to those who suggest that MORE exposure is that advantage?)

The jealousy from outside is palpable!

aggy doesn't want to go the SEC for a TV deal.
aggy wants to get the hell out of the B12.
The vast majority of A&M folks have always wanted to affiliate with the SEC, and the climate is currently ripe for such a move. Kind of a perfect storm.
A move to the SEC probably won't help nor hurt aggy recruiting

I think the potential recruiting "advantage" would be for the "lesser" sports that don't make it to TV very often. Just think about baseball, softball, volleyball, and soccer. Personally, I would love to be able to watch baseball on TV when I can't make a game, or even record it so I could rewatch when I get home. But this isn't a recruiting advantage that the Big 10 schools don't already have with the Big 10 network. It it not like Texas would be the only one with this "advantage". Other schools have this same opportunity. The members of the Big XII had the opportunity to try to put together a deal, but no one wanted to take on the financial risk involved in starting up a network deal. So Texas is the "Bad Guy" because they were offered the opportunity to get this done...

Why do Baylor and aTm stream many of their un-televised events on the internet. It is so that the "fans" can witness the games. I don't see how this TV deal is really that different with regard to advantages. Sure the money is nice, but that is not the "advantage" that they are belly aching about. I didn't see Texas crying foul when all these other schools started streaming on the internet.

We could belly ache that aTm has a recruiting advantage because they host the 7 on 7 high school football tournament. Doesn't that draw high school athletes to aTm for a non-aTm event. Oh my gosh, maybe we should have the NCAA check that out.....

in their SEC wet dreams, does aggy think - despite ESPN saying they will pay no more $$ to the SEC regardless of who else joins, thus decreasing the $$ for current schools - that they are so valuable (a) the SEC schools will give some of their $hare$, or (b) ESPN will voluntarily increase their payout to showcase anm once a year?

buncha silly ********....
