The burgers are pretty good. It's nice being able to load it up with jalapenos, sauteed onions/mushrooms without being nickel and dimed. The burgers do taste very similar to the burgers at Jake's in Dallas/Addision. I'm also a big fan of the fries.
Too late now, I guess, but I read somewhere that their tradition is to give the 1st 100 customers free burgers for the 1st year of business. I'm sure my son (big fan of Mighty Fine, for better or worse, mostly worse when it comes to their burgers) would have loved that, but it's not worth the drive for me. I'm still holding out for In-n-Out, and Trader Joe's, for that matter.
I went today for lunch. Got the Mooyah cheeseburger (two thin patties with cheddar) and topped it with ketchup and grilled onions. Also got a small order of fries.
The good news -- the fries were fantastic. Fresh cut with some skin, medium thickness, and well-seasoned.
The bad news -- the burger was essentially flavor free. They claim they use "lean" beef and I believe it. The buns were generic, too. The grilled onions were very good, though.
My bill came to just under $7.50 with no drink, and it took them over 20 minutes to prepare my order. I won't say I'm never going back, but I won't intentionally skip a place like Waterloo or Phil's or even Mighty Fine for Mooyah's.
