Anyone eaten here? How is it? If it's good, what is the recommended menu item?

Thanks

eaten there 7 or 8 times, all for dinner.

I really like the atmosphere and building itself. They have indoor and patio seating and a decent little bar for when you are waiting for your table. On the patio is another bar that is a better option for a drink or two before dinner. Overall the atmosphere is relaxed as are the menu options. Nothing too expesive and in fact most entrees are $10-$17 and good portion sizes. I guess the best way to describe it is Upscale Southern Casual, if that makes sense.

I have mixed emotions on the food. Mostly positive, but have had a so so meal.

Do not get the calamari. You can tell it's of the frozen variety. You can see the freezer burn on the squid. I've ordered it twice (just to make sure) and it was the same both times.

I do like the corn dog shrimp as an app. Different than what you'll find anywhere else. Also had the spinach and artichoke fondue and the crawfish crabcakes that were excellent.

Entrees...have had the flatiron steak, buffalo meatloaf, BBQ chicken and cornbread Trout. All very good with my favorite being the Trout.

I did not like the Green Chile Macaroni or the Baked macaroni. I did like the Mac and Cheese side, however. Go figure.

There is a Pork Chop and Pork Tenderloin that I need to try that have had good reviews from others I know who have had it.

Enjoy.

been for lunch and dinner. never had a bad meal. burger, trout, green chili mac, pork tenderloin, salmon...it's all excellent.

Eaten there 3 times. The first 2 times it was great. I took my parents the 3rd time and it was a huge mistake. Double the wait that they promised, terrible service (wrong orders, food was cold, waiter was aloof and standoffish), food was blah and overall a bad experience.

I want to give it another chance, but it was so bad last time. You really do have to be careful who you hire these days or you can lose customers quickly.

Before the last visit I would have gone there on a regular basis.
