Monday's Presser 10/12/2020

"Two weeks of fixables" and read a prepared statement about The Eyes controversary. He has asked the team to participate. Let's see if the team is behind him in two weeks - if Baylor even plays.

Tom Herman: Two weeks for Texas to 'fix the fixables. And they're fixable.' | Hookem.com
Why does he keep saying the problems are fixable, yet nothing ever gets fixed? And the definition of insanity is?

And now he says players will start to be punished for their personal fouls? Maybe you shoulda thought about that 4 years ago before it became part of the team culture.

This theme is becoming all too familiar from at least the last three coaches.

My personal favorite is when he was asked if the team was united his answer was 'absolutely."
Your senior quarterback said there is "splintering" and most of your players won't stay on the field with the coaches and a few of the players including Sam for the Eyes. Then you say the team is united? SMH!
How stupid do you think we are? Wait, don't answer that, we already know. We are the people who thought you were worth the $5 mil you were paid.

I think TH is paid $7 mil?

What a total tool job. People, it is NOT Herman's fault. The blame rests clearly at the feet of the social justice committee - has to be because Tommie Terrific said so multiple times

I have NEVER heard any coach say, "do something they are uncomfortable doing".

WTF? You are a student athlete getting free room, board, books & tuition, plus spending money, and a chance to play on the national stage. We wouldn't want these poor little ******* doing something that made them uncomfortable.

I know I'm old, but does anybody else remember Frank's 100 pound vest? Workouts in the sauna? Counting the rows 1-78 while running stands? Was that "comfortable"?

How "comfortable" were they laying under a mound of Sooners?

Tool job Tommie needs to take his ******* and get the hell out of Travis County.
Another good one. Think back to Reagan's comments from the mid 80's when he was dealing with "social unrest on college campuses". His reply was the problem started when the adults started letting the students decide how things are run and what laws/rules they chose to follow. This falls at the feet of leadership or in this case lack of leadership. When sterns made his statement, they should have wished him well in whatever program he transferred to. The tail should not wag the dog!!

You've had 4 years to fix them, you don't fix a running game and you don't fix the fact you have a team that allows lesser athletes to impose their will on you over and over. F TH...

I worry you are holding back...don't swallow the aggression and anger- let it out.

"Guys that commit foolish penalties will be punished. I’ve never been in a program that we’ve done that before; some of the new coaches have been, and so moving forward we’ll punish foolish penalties. It’s the only thing left that we know how to do."

This is telling on so many levels...

He is out of ideas. Of course, he apparently never had any if his own ideas. Just what the Binder told him to do.

Here's an excerpt from from another thread by ebutch that caught my eye. "I saw Texas players leavinG The game saturday laughing. Can you imagine that years ago?" My response is, "No! I cannot. That is totally NOT acceptable...EVER following any loss."

I guess you could say that, with the exception of Sam, the team is united in their disdain for the University, its traditions, and the fans. I will be very glad to see this group of shortsighted, malcontents graduate or transfer out. Either option is fine. Just be gone! And take that over paid, butt-beaded, sorry excuse for a Head Coach with them!

Dr. Reddick is the professor who gets to decide what's racist and what isn't correct? Interesting on his bio he includes this: "Dr. Reddick is an award winning teacher and scholar; awarded the Eyes of Texas Excellence Award in 2008." Did he have an issue in 2008 accepting this award?

It is.

To me that means a minimum of 2 things.

1. He has lost the team.
2. The players have had no real previous accountability for mistakes, especially STUPID stuff - perhaps other than positive verbal stuff like "we just got to play better Johnny".

On stupid penalties, how about being more Mike or Bob Stoops or Muschamp, etc. and chew some serious *** as the player returns to the sideline? Doesn't always have to be TH but asst. coach will do.

Most times my HS coaches chewed serious *** on stupid penalties and fumbles and it didn't harm us for life.

Also running the stadium steps or the pit the week after might get some focus and better play next time not to mess up from some of the guilty.

While we are at it, why not impose penalties on players that fumble too?

I'm getting on up there myself..68 in November.. Frank Medina was small in stature, but you sure didn't mess up or you'd find yourself in the "Medina Sessions". From what I've read and heard, you either shaped up or shipped out.
Could you see yourself standing in front of Coach Royal telling him he made a mistake in signing you to a full scholarship to The University of Texas and were quitting on him....
