Maryland won the 1st quarter and the 4th quarter, Texas won the 2nd, and it was a tie for the 3rd. It's a joke to believe Texas played well. I saw some good individual performances, Ehlinger was not one of them. Ehlinger is about as good a passer as I am. Trust me, that isn't very good.
Can he get better, of course, but not in one season, and that still doesn't address the elephant in the room. His horrible decision making late in games. I don't care what he says, this is the 3rd game he has lost on stupid turnovers because he is trying to make plays. I applaud a guy that has the sac to step up and try to carry the team, but if your ability doesn't meet with the task then you will fail.
This is as much on the coaches as it is on Ehlinger, they need to put him in position to succeed, and they are doing a piss poor job of doing this. It's obvious to everyone in the country that the way to beat Texas is get Texas behind and play prevent Defense, Sam will try to force it and turn it over. I know everyone is upset about play calling, but the fundamental issue is actually game planning. They are not prepared and it shows in close games, they don't know what to do or what to call.
