I know it’s only halftime, but
1. Aggies were talking about making a statement against UNC
2. Several key players for UNC quit ( I’ll not use the PC “opting out” phrase)
making point 2 considerably easier.

Yes sir, it is “A Joke”, Mr Mond.
But the jokes on you and the Maroon Goons. The Ags do not belong in the top 4.

Let TAMU blow this and it will be a meltdown of epic proportions. And Ags ....a win without being a blowout tonight is a joke.

UPDATE start of 4th UNC leads by 3.

A&M's going to win this game. Just don't think UNC has enough on offense. But UNC has made it more interesting than it should be.

Yeah I know, but the Aggies were going to “make a statement “, I’ve heard that several times over the past couple of weeks....then key UNC players quit and I’m looking Kev... dadgunmit they just might.

If Mack Brown wins, and please dear Jesus, if I have found favor in your sight, please intervene to make this happen.
College Station will riot like Portland.

No doubt. I think A&M needs to win by minimum 14 to even save face. ACC is 0-5 in bowl games and NC loses almost 4000 yds of offense. Anything less than 14 would be a disaster for them. Watching this game, if they had gotten the #4 CFP they'd still have lost by 28+ to Bama. Course so would we.
 
If Aggy was truly the #4 team in the country, they would have no problem blowing out an 8-3 NC team that lost to Virginia, FSU and ND, gave up 53 to Wake Forest and are missing about 75% of their offensive production.
A close win is not a 'win' for the Aggy cause.

If they do win, they can celebrate the first NY6 trophy or trophy of any meaning since the 98 B12 Championship, and Iowa St got there first.

they aren't even close to Bama or tOSU. Course neither is anyone else. Trouble aggies have is Mond. He can be pretty good or flat out awful. If they had a QB, the'd be decent. Still wouldn't beat the best teams, but pretty good. Their D is much improved and Spiller is solid. They also need better WR's. Great TE and punter.
 
Several of my rational aggy friends (yes I have rational aggy friends) are not at all disappointed he is moving on. The statue thing for them is as big if not bigger than the Eyes issue is for us.

I have no doubt that the Ross statue is an important fixture on campus for them, but it is not like they drag it to every event on campus and away and sing to it.

The Eyes of Texas is part of everything that we as Texas fans, students and graduates do. It is sung before and after all games. It is sung at graduation. The Eyes is much more important than any statue.

The way the School President, Administration, Athletic Director, the thankfully former football coach and quite frankly, the Governor of Texas, has handled the situation is a disgrace.

Have you ever heard of the Ross Volunteers at aggyland? If not look it up. It is a big deal to that cult.
 
Main problem they had was that the #4 spot was going to play Alabama, a team that had already beaten them by 28 points. So why bother with a rematch? At least ND was a new matchup, as well as two historical powerhouses.
