Many parents want their children to go to a certain school, usually one close to home. So in that regard, Alex Collins' mother isn't that different.

The mother could not face the reality of having to say her son was attending U of pig people.

If I were a top RB I'd want to go play under Bielema and his power running game. He's certainly developed some good ones while he was at Wisconsin. The mother and the rest of the family should respect his wishes and stop being selfish. He's the one that's going to be grinding and Miami is still under sanctions to boot.

This is pure speculation but it made sense when I heard it (of course all you have to be is cynical to believe it): What if she has been paid by a school to deliver her son (other than Arkansas)? That would explain the need for an attorney if that school or booster wants their money back.

PH -- followed one of the links and a Fox sports guy suggested in a twitter that if he can't run down his mom he should play in the Big 10.

Is everyone on here too young to remember the Kerry Watkins fiasco. Can't believe that stupid son of a ***** was ever on our payroll.

His dad signed the LOI. The mom hired an attorney because she feels she was needing some assistance in clearing up false or inaccurate statements in the press in case of litigation.

I saw the kid interviewed on TV. He really is putting a nice spin on it, describing a caring mom who wants what's best for him. I feel for a kid whose mom makes the family a laughingstock. I wish him nothing but success.

I am hearing this from a Miami supporter, the mom suspects the coach was getting some $$$ to direct kids to certain schools. Mom wasn't happy, thought son was being used by coach.
