MIzzou vs. Kansas

last night, I'm playing with the remote and happen to land on the last 4 minutes of Kansas at Mizzou. Weird game, Kansas acted like they didn't know how to hold onto the ball, 27 turnovers! I probably saw at least three turnovers during that four minutes, game should have gone into OT, but Mizzou got a really good bounce off the rim to win the game in the last second.

I was surprised KU was ranked 15, I thought they were a better team.

Anybody in the know think KU is really this bad? Turnover after turnover.

I don't think they're bad by any stretch.

But they're absolutely not the same Kansas team that took the court last year. We've already played both of em in Lincoln, and I honestly thought Mizzou would win last night because I really didn't think KU would be able to handle Mizzou's full-court press.

Mizzou's pretty decent this year.

I wouldn't be surprised if they took it to KU in Lawrence as well. Their pressure really gives the Jayhawks some problems.

I think Mizzou will beat Oklahoma by at least 10 in Columbia, earning them about a 4 seed in the dance.

I changed the channel at 30 - 16 at halftime. When I turned back, Mizzou was tying the game. How did Kansas blow that lead?

Except in nearly all instances, the tie-ups were caused by people diving all over the floor to recover tipped passes or warred over rebounds, not because somebody dribbled into a defender, stopped, and got tied up.

I thought it was a very interesting game. Missouri is more than just good, it's very, very good, when they aren't being the stupidest team in all of college basketball.

Taking 40% of their shots from three point land against the smallest team in the conference (Nebraska)

Inbounding off their feet in an attempt to score underneath right off the inbounds pass, when there are 25 seconds to go in the half against Texas?

Making a steal up three with 5 seconds to go and driving for a basket against defenders instead of passing and/or dribbling out the clock (again, against Texas)?

Getting called for the intentional foul after the shot falls on a breakaway when you are up 9 with 2 minutes to go? Basket, free throws, inbounds and basket, and it becomes a 3 point game? (Against OSU).

Up three with less than a minute to go and you hack Eaton 30 feet from the basket?

And last night, what the hell was Lyons doing taking shots straight into Aldrich? I mean, a turnaround in which Lyons leans right into the middle of Aldrich's chest? Or a lazy fingerroll thing with Aldrich waiting to swat it away?

Or Tiller trying to reach in for steal against Collins, when KU was inbounding from 1/2 court with 5 seconds on the shot clock?

Man, those guys do really stupid ****, but they do play some really good ball.

I found remarkable the number of times that Missouri, down 10 or so, would shoot off of one pass. Just dumb basketball. It'd be one thing if they were getting layups, but they were taking long twos and threes.

I also couldn't understand how KU, with Morningstar and Tyrel Reed getting major minutes, could move the ball effectively and get shots, especially compared to how, say, Texas did it. But maybe that's just me. But then they started turning it over and lost the game.

Missouri clearly has the press down, but the half-court offense is about as clunky as UT's.
