Mizzou Delays Decision

Probably, like Aggy, they have to wait for the SEC to agree to the move, which hasn't come yet, before they officially bail from the Big-5/6. (My high school math teacher would have wanted me to reduce 10/12 to its lowest common denominator, 5/6.)

Missouri is a cancer that hopefully will drop dead on its own. All of the Big-12 woes today can be traced to Missouri. In their haste to paint Texas as the bad guy in all this, people have forgotten that it was Missouri whoring itself to B1G that started it all.

And now while the Big-12 is bending over backwards to make Missouri happy, all Missouri can do in return is keep the Big-12 hanging.

Disgusting behavior by Mizzou. I think the Big-12 will be better off without them, and so would the SEC actually. Perhaps the SEC has realized that and is now having 2nd thoughts about having this dirtbag of a school in their conference, just like the B1G did.

We may know something about MU on Monday, October 31. The SEC may be meeting on Sunday, October 30, presumably to take a final vote on MU.

Deaton leaves on a 9-day vacation to India on Tuesday. Monday would seem to be a natural day for an announcement of MU to the SEC if it's going to happen in the next few days.

Don't know why, but I get the idea Deaton's trying to find any way to keep Mizzou in the Big XII. He might be the only rational person in Columbia (or India) right now, but I think he has some idea what's going to happen when Mizzou goes to the SEC...basically getting paid to become even more marginalized.

I wouldn't mind seeing 'em stay in this conference, but only if it's made clear it's a real commitment, and there will be a price to pay if Mizzou flirts with any other conference for quite a while. Otherwise, don't let the door hit your back end on the way out.

The ONLY reason Mizzou hasn't announced yet is to see if WVU can get out of the Big East for next year. If they can't Mizzou will be in the Big XII until the conference adds a 10th member. The cost to MU of leaving the Big XII at 9 teams is too much to bear.

I'm really hoping there is something to them wanting to see how things develop with ND, but that is just wishful thinking on my part.

Well, the SEC didn't meet on Sunday, but they're supposed to meet "soon."

Deaton also canceled his vacation to India, apparently due to MU's conference situation.

The overwhelming speculation is that MU is delaying their migration to the SEC to negotiate down their B2 exit penalty. WVU's trouble in escaping from the BE may in fact be slowing down MU's exit as well.

Finally, there's at least one report out there that claims ND has proclaimed its everlasting love to the BE, and will help rebuild the conference. I'm not sure I'm sold on this report due to the prospective lineup of the "new" BE, but I guess we'll see.

Hey MotherGoose... is there really a reason to delay caring about Mizzou?? I quite caring about them after they beat the ATM...

This isnt shocking. ND's only way back to prominance is to play high school teams. since this is all that is left in the BE, this is their best shot to a BCS bowl every year.
