According to the KCStar Mizzou wants a longer time frame for revenue sharing, like 10 years. Also, they are on the spot because suddenly Kansas is in play for the ACC.
This is almost like the United Nations. Everyone is playing 5 card stud.
Don't go to that link. The TV station was overwhelmed by having more than 25 people on its website. They would communitcate more effectively with two tin cans and a string.
ST. LOUIS -- University of Missouri curators voted Tuesday to consider leaving the Big 12 instead of committing to the troubled league for the long term.
The governing board's members agreed unanimously after a 4-hour closed meeting at the system's St. Louis campus to give Missouri chancellor Brady Deaton authority to look elsewhere.
****'em, normally I would just say kick them out but that's what the SEC wants. If missouri is going to leave, I want them to write their own death sentence by consciously leaving to join the SEC. Obviously missouri won't get what they really want which is B1G.
BYU is as solid a take as there is out there. BYU draws around 62 per game, has a national TV setup, and a national following. Yes, it's a really religious school, but beggars can't be choosers.
Problem is, of the mid-majors out there, there are only 3: BYU, WV, and maybe Louisville.
TCU? I hope the B12 takes TCU because it would run off Texas pronto. TCU doesn't draw worth crap over TV. At home, TCU in the best of times draws around 42. This year in 3 games TCU is drawing around 35.5.
You may not mind going to a Texas game in Ft. Worth with 42 in the stands, but DeLoss Dodds would mind a lot. The man has bills to pay. The man bailed on the SWC once, and Dodds wouldn't be overjoyed to be married to TCU again.
I know Texas wants to get the LHN off the ground. They would like to stay in the B12 until that happens. Maybe they can. Or maybe MO just threw a big wrench in the master plan.
When A&M bolted, I said, "If one more team bolts from the Big 12 (probably Missouri), screw it. Let's blow up the Big 12."
Now it looks like Missouri's bolting, so screw it. Let's blow up the Big 12. The Big 12 is without question a sinking ship--like the Titanic, but not nearly as impressive. It's time to move to a stable ship. Pac-12, Big Ten, or independent--I'm not too picky at this point anymore.

What does this have to do with TV revenues? We don't get a percentage of the gate receipts from Fort Worth. The SWC comparison doesn't apply (cheating and competition level versus 2011-style TV contracts). If 35K show up for a TCU/Iowa State game in Fort Worth, it probably wouldn't be 1st or 2nd tier anyhow, so there's no sharing involved.
I guarantee you Texas/TCU fits the description of 1st/2nd tier and would be a sellout. If you disagree, you're nuts. And if the new commish thinks that we've already tapped out the DFW market, that's a different problem altogether. It's not like the Louisville market is buzzing for better football viewing numbers.
