Here are my thoughts:
As I looked at the poll and noticed 6 Big 12 schools are in the top 25 and all were South teams except for 1 KSU I was a little disturbed. This same topic came up last year when a north school won the Big 12 regular season simply because their wasn't any other top schools in the North. So this leads me to believe that something should be done to balance the teams.

I think it should be a rotating schedule every two years.
Schedule A
. Year one and two - North vs. South as it is today

Schedule B.
Year three and four:
Group 1 - 3 North teams + 3 South teams.
Group 2 - 3 North teams + 3 South teams.
Put names in a hat to configure - North hat and South hat. Draw three from North and three from South and that's group 1. The remaining teams are group 2. You will draw names every Schedule B season at the beginning of the 3rd year. So it would be the same schedule for year 3 and 4 but at the beginning of each schedule B two year season you would draw teams. Everyone would still play each team in the conference but you would play your group of teams twice.

So as a student athlete no matter which year you started if you played all 4 years you would get to play both schedules.

What are your thoughts/suggestions?

That's kinda complicated. Do you think that would level the north and south? I can see if "random draw" worked, it might. I agree in football, the B12 north is pretty much atrocious. And in WCBB with 4 of the 6 B12 south schools hovering around in the top 10, it is unbalanced.

One thought was to split the schools based on which side of I-35 the school was located. East and West divisions.

I'd personally just not have a North & South division. It's already unfair that Baylor, A&M, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas have to play each other twice in a season.

Heck. Let's stop wasting our time in the preseason with all those other worthless conferences

and just start fighting it out in the Big 12. That's 24 games against some of the best programs in the nation with a few "cake walks" to get a breather in. May the best Big 12 team win!
