Christ.

So ends another of rocks fundamental drumming chapters.

The guy was a giant, right up there with Keith Moon, Bonzo Bonham, and Ginger Baker.

Whap bam pow bap pop pop pop whap spash.

RIP

His rock drumming in 3/4 time on "Manic Depression" was greatly admired and appreciated by me.

Solid, flashy, impressive stuff.

All three members of the Jimi Hendrix Experience have now passed on.

I saw that original lineup twice.

I'm talkin' 'bout my generation.

Oh man. I saw the post and i immediately thought of the former guitarist in Guided By Voices. Mitch Mitchell plays a sloppy guitar, but oh so good.

Tells you what generation of music fan I am. i had no idea Jimi Hendrix's drummer was also named Mitch Mitchell.

I've had the "Little Miss Lover" riff stuck in my head for 40 years. I'm a Hendrix worshiper, but Mitch had much to do with the "coolness" of Jimi's best songs. It would not have been the same with another drummer. For example, Baker, great drummer, but I'm sure glad he wasn't in The Experience. RIP.
