How about those ladies? Defending their Olympic gold medals in a rainy match. Anyone who's played beach volleyball knows how difficult it can be since the ball gets heavier and more slippery. I think it's safe to say they are the greatest beach volleyball team ever.

Way to go Ladies! This is one gold medal we needed and they came through like champions.

That match was a real Olympic highlight for me-watched the whole thing last night. Exciting games, and the last one went back and forth. China served better, had a girl 6' 3 1/2" at the net, and the rain didn't help, but the U.S. team pulled it out at the end as usual. Some Olympic events can really be exciting.

I agree it was a nice gesture on their part. About a week ago, he spent some time in the sand playing with them. He could have smiled for a couple of pictures and left, especially considering volleyball is not his thing according to the reports.

I will miss the two of them on the AVP and international tours now that they'll be starting families.

It just seems like May and Walsh are content to lob it over on their serves, whereas the Chinese team tried for aces, but never making a service error has its benefits.
I didn't like the fake injury the Chinese girl suffered near the end, but the theatrics didn't help them any. That was bush league, but you see it in many sports these days-the influence of soccer, maybe.
