Pimp Daddy
The second game of the series and the game of a double dip today finds Texas trying to extend it's modest win streak while the Golden Gophers look for their first win of it's Texas swing to open the season.

Waiting for the lineup to be given so I can put them up before the start of the opener of the twin bill.

I'm excited to see if the bats stay alive. Winning 13-2 is so much nicer than 3-2. Plus, it'd brighten my mood after the basketball game, which I expect us to lose.

The count goes full and a big early pitch in the game for Sawyer is a tailor made double play ball to second that is bobbled by Marlow and it's just a 4-6 force for two away. Should have been out of the inning there.

This allows Tyler Hanson, the first baseman to bat with two down and runners on the corners.
Another full count pitch is blown by him on a fast ball for a swinging K to retire the side.

A threat for Minnesota, but nothing more and to the bottom of the second with nobody across the plate so far.

Skip is back out and the change is made.

Pitching change.

The lefty Kirby Bellow who had a good outing in Houston against Rice comes in.

He ground out 6-3 as his hitting woes continue for two down.

Boswell flies out to left to retire the side in order.

We go to the ninth in the first of two today and Texas looks for a shutout win leading 5-0.

Kyle Johnson comes in for the ninth for Texas on the hill and he got a save in Houston last week. The fireballer looks to preserve the shutout.

Handel leads off from the right side for Minnesota.
He draws a walk.

One on for Skjefte batting righty.
A laser to Boswell and the base running rock leads to a 5U-3 double play for two down.
I can hear my old baseball coaches saying make the line drive go through, especially when behind 5-0 in the ninth.

Athman up as the last hope with two away.
A slow roller and Marlow bare hands it and a one hop flip to a stretched out Jones at first ends the game and gets 5-0 shut out win for the Horns.

The second game will hopefully get started in about 45 minutes and Texas looks to keep the winning streak alive with

Feel like I'm there in the stadium. Now, I'm going to see if we were able to sweep the little gophers although on the other site, the title of the thread was "Horns Sweep DH". Just want to again thank NB for his amazing threads AND for not putting the damned outcome in the fn thread title...

Dang, the site looks amazing and I guess I need to get something other than a question mark as an avatar!
