Military Keynesianism

I am curious.

I assume (and correct me if I am wrong) you believe we should pursue a policy of non-interventionism and economic nationalism (against free-trade).

Assume we institute those policies tomorrow. Describe what you envision this nation to look like in 10 years or 100 years? What fills the vacuum we leave behind? What does our nation look like compared to today?

The big sticking point I have in my head imagining such a world hangs on the world when such policies were favored. Oceans protected this nation. In the global economy and the military environment of today, are these realistic policies?
