MId Price Resturants

I am been thinking about this for a little while... I am single and therefore I date a fair amount. I know a lot of nicer resturants in the city, but sometimes, the girls I go out with are not into a really nice place (Roy's, Vespio, Jefferys, Chez Nu, whatever...). But, I don't want to take them to a place like Chili's or Fridays. Do any of you know places that are nice with good food but not as formal as those listed above ? The price is secondary, it is more a matter of atmosphere.

Jean Luc's Bistro, Ranch 616, Z Tejas, Castle Hill Cafe, East Side Cafe, Gumbo's, Ray's Steakhouse, North by Northwest, Chez Zee

Those are just a few off the top of my head. Ranch 616 and Castle Hill are my favorites off that list.

North by Northwest ? The one next to Iron Cactus North ? I ate there when it first opened and to say it was **** would be disrespectful to ****. It was seriously one of the worst things I had ever eaten. But thanks for the other suggestions. I have been to Ranch 616 a few times and I am always impressed. Plus, they serve Michiladas there...

I ate at North By Northwest once and it gave me the shits for a long time. Do not eat there.

Louie's 106 on 6th and Congress is nice and the food is good, but not too pricey. The atmosphere is sophisticated, yet you can walk in with khakis and a nice shirt and not feel underdressed. Plus, how can you beat a place where you can have a damn good dinner and then walk down to 6th or 4th to some bars?

Romeos on Barton is always a good pick to take a date when you dont wanna spend an arm and a leg on good food...but want the "date atmospere."
