Microsoft Word

In 2004 for the Mac, you do not want to cut and paste from a lot of different documents.

I reset the "normal" template default but it doesn't matter. If you bump things up, suddenly a paragraph will revert to a different font and size, and sometimes margin.

Worse, that damn little thing that sometimes appears at the end of sentences with options for changing formats -- I was tired of it always appearing where I was trying to create a bulleted list, but there was no option to move it out of the way.

So I optioned clicked to reset some settings.

After that, if I added a character or words to a paragraph, everything would suddenly shift on a line-by-line basis, creating huge gaps that had to to be manually corrected (no, not justified text). If you then decided to tweak the line again, the same thing happened.

I looked and played with different settings but could never correct the behavior.

This is not an experience you want when creating a long document with a short deadline.

Once you get past the learning curve, common tasks in 2007 are much more streamlined. Takes a while to get use to the strip at the top.

I like 2007 also. It takes a little while to get used to it, but I like it. As much as I think 2007 is better it's still a pain in the ***. It formats things things you don't want formated. Our admin had to redo our departments procedure manual and she was pulling her hair out trying to take all the documents that were sent to her and reformatting them to what she needed.
