MIcrosoft charging for Hotmail via Outlook?

I just loaded Office2003 onto XP Pro on my PC and tried to set up my hotmail account as my default on Outlook, but looks like it requires a paid subscription to do that. Is this a new fee? I guess I am out of the techie loop, but is this happening to all users or just new ones?

I guess a work around is set it to Yahoo, but that is an inconvenience more to the senders.

Does MS now charge for hotmail through outlook?

hmm...doesn't do it on mine...yet perhaps. BTW you'll have to pay also if you want to rec your Yahoo mail in Outlook.
