Wow. I never expected to see this.
I understand the free rider problem, and I recognize that the business community is hypocritical here, because they're generally "freedom of contract" advocates and have no problem with other things being a condition of employment. However, you shouldn't be able to force someone to join a union or lose employment opportunities. That's way over the top. Unions simply are going to have to sell the merits of joining to their members.
