New album out, "All Rebel Rockers." I've been a fan of this guy since Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy. He's been true to his message for many years now. Great songwriter, great singer, great performer and really decent guy. I know someone who worked with him for a few years so I got to meet him a couple of times. He's about 6'7" and has a heart that big to match.
Love the new album. For those not familiar I would call it pop/alternative/hip-hop. Toss in a little reggae. He's got a unique blend that's accessible to many. His early stuff was more defined as hip-hop, but recent albums definitely have a broader spectrum of sounds and appeal. Still, throughout he's sung about making the world a better place.
I haven't seen it, but he made a film of his trip through Iraq and his performances for the troops.
Also downloaded the new Okkervil, but haven't listened to that yet.
