so I went and saw mr. naked congos starring in "The Lincoln Lawyer", and enjoyed it. I find out that my father is a big fan of Mr. Connelly's works, and he gives me a few books.

I'm addicted. I've read about a dozen of them now, and I have a hard time putting them down.

Harry Bosch, Rachel Walling, Jack McElvoy, Elanor Wish, Mickie Haller....this is good ****.

Any other fans?

I'm into his books in a big way. Hopes he keeps cranking them out for a long, long time. My two favorites: Lost Light and Angel Flight.

If you watch Castle, he is also one of the guys at the poker table.

ps -- if you live near Houston and like this genre of book, then you must
visit "Murder by the Book" on Bissonet (just east of Kirby). It is one terrific little indie bookstore.

I got the Lincoln Lawyer out of the $3 bin at B&N about 4 years ago. After I read it I went to half price.com and ordered all of his other books and a couple were collections (2-3 stories) Very well written and kept you guessing!

I just started The Fifth Witness. This thread is what made me decide to buy it. I'm glad I did -- very interesting and well-written.

I like legal thrillers.

As I've read all the Grishams, this gives me someone else to read now. Thanks for the tip, guys!

Texanne, I wish you hadn't. There are a few spoilers in the book, and when you read the earlier works you'll understand what I mean.

For example, the Harry Bosch-Mickey Haller relationship, etc.

Well, it was the only MC book they had at Sam's Club. I'll be able to deal with the spoilers okay. But thanks!

I'm sure that you can.

But a lot of the characters in "Fifth" were very well developed in previous books. Kind of like starting "Sopranos" in season three.

But, enjoying the read is all that matters.

Loved it -- am hooked! Just finished Lincoln Lawyer and now am reading Blood Work.

I like his character development, and I think his plots are very realistic. He's a good writer.

two big thumbs up for Connelly. After reading the Lincoln Lawyer, I started the Brass Verdict, which has Haller meeting Bosch for the first time. Connelly is a smart writer with good plotting and not overly flowery dialogue.
