Michael Beasley...

He is a beast. He is putting KSU on his back late in their game against aggy. And aggy is whining about the ref's on every thread on their board.

He is also Selfish. Doesn't play D everytime down the floor. Does a lot of complaining himself and doesn't know when to pass the ball when covered by 3 defenders. He is a good player but I think sometimes his selfishness costs K State.

on a different note, beasley is listed at 6'10", but he seemed an inch or two shorter than elonu, who guarded him often. elonu is also listed at 6'10". if beaseley measures out at 6'8" or 6'9", i wonder if that'll affect his draft stock. if i was picking, it wouldn't change my mind...but a couple of inches seem to often make a difference to nba general managers.

The reason I said "arguably" is that Durant's co-starters were three freshmen and a sophomore. He had DJ... James was a bit player by comparison, because KD had his spot.

Beasley has Walker (who has turned out to be a much better all-around player than I anticipated), and Clent Stewart, a senior, at one of the guards. But Pullen is no Augustin.

If you really wanted to argue this, you could try, is all I'm saying. I liked Texas's young crew last year over what K-State has right now.

Beasley and Durant are a lot alike, in terms of temperament, and how they play. I think Durant's outside skills are better, but Beasley's a much better post player, and I really don't see the selfish aspect, which is what got me into this thread.

Also Durant didn't whine every time a call was called against him or ***** at his teammates for missing a shot or not passing the ball to him.

At the very least, I expect Beasley to be every bit the player that Durant is at the next level. Anyone that doesn't at least acknowledge that possibility is not being objective.

Someone made a comparison to Len Bias a while back and that is pretty accurate. Beasley has it all.

Beasley is a great player. We would be an easy Final 4 pick with him on our team, and I would take him any day. Durant is going to be a great NBA player, but Beasley has all the tools to be a great one as well. That doesn't take anything away from Durant.
