How are they going to feild a roster for 5-6 years off of minimum salary guys? They have traded their draft picks for the next couple of years and have no cap space.

I hope the NBA goes to a hard cap and gets rid of the exceptions that let you sign minimum salary guys, and mid-level exceptions without salary cap penalties. I would love for this to blow up in their faces.

Picking up Mike Miller, a 40% career three point shooter, won't hurt. Udonis Haslem is supposed to be coming in. Even if Pittman isn't ready to go up and down the floor, Varnado should be. Varnado isn't going to be anything other than an occasional dunk off a feed or a putback on offense, and he isn't big enough to handle most starting centers on defense, but he will be able to rebound and block shots of other players.

I don't know if they get enough talent that they won't be forced to play some utter stiffs, but it looks like they will be able to get enough complementary parts.

But I'm wondering how much money are Bosh, Wade, and James leaving on the table, if Miller is able to get a five year, $30M contract?

3 guys that haven't proven anything yet.
Wade was given a ring and the other 2 are good, but not great by any means.
I still think they will have trouble coming out of the East until they get a decent big man.

LeBron is easily, EASILY top 10 as long as we are talking ability and not "greatness" or some other stupid definer of basketball acumen like championships won. I bet you think Robert Horry is top 10, right? I'm sorry, but if you don't think LeBron is top 10 "best" players (again, no legacy ********), you simply have not seen the guy play.

The Heat are gonna be a lot better than last year, but it's way premature to start crowning them champions just yet.

Wade, Bosh. and James are in the prime of their careers age-wise, but how good South Beach's team becomes is going to depend a lot on what kind of players are put around the trio. It appears the Heat doesn't have much left to spend without getting into luxury tax area, and they've also had to give up a lot of first round choices over the next five or so years.

I'm not saying they won't win a championship or two, but I think people need to tap the brakes a bit. Unless they pick up some good complimentary players, it's gonna be three on five a lot this next season, and even Wade, James, and Bosh aren't talented enough to beat those odds consistently.

They still have to beat Boston and LA will match up well with them. Kobe is still tops in the NBA with the best coach of all time.

It's just historical bias. There's no 10 guys who have ever held a basketball who were better or more talented than LeBron. Asking him to name them is just an exercise in futility.
