This dude got screwed big time. And he got screwed in more than one way. Obviously, any false allegation like this is an injustice to your reputation and an invasion of your privacy. And of course the media treated the story as though he was guilty for 2 years.

In addition, Major League Baseball suspended him over this, and it cost him 2 of his prime years that he'll never get back based on nothing but this woman's allegation and staged photographs. (Looks like she pulled a Jussie Smollet or a slight variant on it.) So though the court system showed him due process, the institutions that determined whether he could a living did not. Pathetic, because not only was there never enough evidence to try him criminally, this chick couldn't even get a restraining order. (A restraining order is an ex parte proceeding, meaning the other side doesn't even have to get notice or be able to defend itself.). In other words, this thing was flimsy as hell, but it still ruined this guy. It took him suing her for defamation (which I guarantee you was not done on a contingent fee, meaning Bauer had to be pay his legal bills out of pocket) and going through discovery to exonerate himself.

Of course there is a lesson for the guys. Don't bang random skanks.

I finally watched the video in the first post. Wow, he let her off easy for a settlement. I would have wanted a recorded video of her saying how she made it up, lied, covered it up, and is sorry now. (She's probably not, but at least get her recorded saying it.) Then I'd want it force posted on her social media and my own for all to see.

With the evidence not handed over during discovery, how is someone not jailed, fined, and / or disbarred for that?!
