As some of you already know, the new Metallica album has been leaked.

From what I've heard from the six tracks available from metallica.com, I think this is my favorite Metallica album since And Justice For All. Kirk Hammett welcome back. And thank you to the two new variables, Robert Trujillo and Rick Rubin. It sounds like Hammett is channeling Kerry King in "All Nightmare Long."

Thanks for the reference to the song listing. I really dig that All Nightmare Long song. Can't wait to get the entire cd. I agree with the whole Kirk Hammett thing, good to see him play like that. The drums are still ridiculously loud, but I like the direction they're going.

I'm totally excited about this new CD. At first I was a little bummed when I heard the radio single "The Day That Never Comes," but after listening to it a few more times, and watching the video, it is a bad *** song.

I will be buying this CD the day it comes out...

ESPN is using a lot of Metallica on their pregame show as background music during some of the clips. They've used Wherever I May Roam and a couple of different riffs from The Day That Never Comes.

This CD kicks ***. If Lars would have fixed his snare this could have been an even better cd.

The lead off song "That was just your life" is ******* bad ***. The hook during the chorus is rocking hard!

...pretty good. No Master or Ride, but I'd say somewhere between justice and the black album. Course for me, everything after cliff was second rate. Trujillo is a bad *** though. Good job kicking Bob "Sucking Cock" Rock to the curb and bringing in Rick Rubin.

The song that really surprised me was The Unforgiven III. Starts out slow but Hammet's solo is awesome.

Agreed. This is the best they've put out in awhile. It's no Kill or Ride, but at least I can stand it.

Good job Metallica. I'm really diggin this cd. After the bowl of crap served on St. Anger, my expectations weren't high, but wow, I'm very impressed. It's no Master, but not much out there by anybody compares to that. Hammett found his guitar and is playing like he used to (even before the black album).

Sounds like it was mixed the same way as the early albums... no deep bass from the bass guitar or drums. I still like it but you obviously don't need a subwoofer to get the most out of this album.
