Metal Gear Solid 4

Has anyone gotten this yet? I don't have a PS3 but if I were to get one, it would be for this game. It looks awesome.

No..don't have it. A guy at work brought in a PS3 (new) with the game. He was DYING to get home. It looks like a great game.

I remember Metal Gear Solid 3. I was so excited. I found out that the PS2 was dead when I put it in- spent 2 weeks fixing it. I finally get the PS2 back and realize the the control scheme for MGS3 is only slightly better than the ones for the rigged robot arm crane games at arcades. I quit after being gunned down by two guys while I helplessly wiggled my knife at their chests. The only saving grace was that you could outlast their multiple gunshots to the torso and then dry-hump their corpses.

I turned the game off and washed my hands of Sony forever.

My wife's out of town, and this is my weekend, so it's been keeping me pretty busy. Anyone thats a fan of the series will love it, at least to the point that I'm at.

Metal Gear Online is great too.

Yeah I never played MGS3 and gave it a try yesterday. So far I find the game to be remarkably frustrating. I went to an easier difficulty so it would piss me off less. It's really weird playing MGS without the Soliton Radar. Reminds me of MGS1 on hard mode. So far I wouldn't say the game is fantastic. The James Bond style intro was kind of...odd...

I would say MSG3 gets better as you go along. The ending is probably the best of the first three. I played the 4th yesterday for a bit and I enjoyed it. I don't have a PS3 though so I won't be playing it much.

Well MGS3 has gotten a lot better as I went along. Took some time to get used to the controls again. Just finished the boss fight with The Pain and it was fun. The boss fight with Ocelot wasn't all that great but it wasn't as bad the second time. The cut scenes interrupting the battle are annoying.

As for MGS4 the reviews have been much better than I thought they would be on this side of the pacific. I may have to wait for one more must have PS3 exclusive before I fork over the dough. Two must have games with a BluRay player is worth it I think.
