And therein lies the issue with Herman. While I don’t question his intelligence, it is becoming more and more apparent that he doesn’t make good football decisions, and he seems not to adequately prepare his team.
The latest example was his offensive play calling today. If they’re completely stuffing the run, freaking abandon the strategy. And if the pass is working, pass.
We were out-coached again today, as we were against OU, Kansas, and TCU. LSU was a wash, and we won by three last weekend when we should have won easily. With superior talent, against reasonable opponents, we either struggle to win, or lose.
I thought Herman represented our path back to relevance. Sadly, I don’t believe that any more. Nothing against him personally and he is a very good recruiter, but he appears not to have the skill set to bring this program all the way back. Attention the detail and decision making skills are just not there.
It’s a bummer.
