Mens/Womens Sports Dual Events

Why don't the Mens and Womens teams in sports travel together and play after each other.

Example:

Kansas Mens and Womens teams play Texas in Austin, a couple hours apart from each other? Would it not reduce Kansas costs? Would it not increase the attendance?

I understand sometimes TV would dictate different schedules.

I look at it this way, if the baseball team and softball team played a double header softball and then a baseball game against TCU in Fort Worth, I would more than likely attend both games. Would I drive 40 miles one weekend to watch one and then the other the next weekend, highly unlikely to attend both.

I think Kansas fans would attend both on Saturday if they were played closer to back and back and I think Kansas traveling costs would be reduced.

Maybe I am ahead of my time......

I've often wondered the same thing. The Pac 10/12 has been doing this for years with at least basketball and volleyball. The way they do it, though, the travel partner is your rival. Cal/Stanford will travel one weekend to Oregon. They will each play an Oregon team on Thursday, then switch and play the other on Saturday. The whole conference schedule works this way. You and your rival are either on the road or at home playing the same 2 teams every weekend, except when you have a weekend off and you only play each other.
