memphis

Meh. Who said they were good this year? They have played five legit teams and went 2-3 against them. So what if they beat everyone in C-USA. They will lose in the second round.

As for next year, they will be good but I don't see them having a force inside. I think last year's team was a once-in-a-lifetime thing.

What's Demarcus Cousins except an interior player and one of the top ones of this recruiting class?

It looks like Memphis's only problem over the next few years is having some three and four year players of sufficient quality who will provide experience and continuity to settle the freshmen down and let the team go far.

I think there's a good chance they get John Wall, too.

Cal has built a monster out there. My hope is that the NCAA catches up with him at some point, but we'll see.

ok so the best pg in the nation, the best sg in the nation (ok bradley and boynton may be up there, but still), and the best pf in the nation, thats crazy

also they do have a few three or four players in there every year dozier and anderson , they are seniors this year, taggart is a jr (has been at memphis two years because of transfer from ISU, witherspoon seems like he will be there a couple more years, mack is a jr he is a pretty solid player, and the have noland dennis coming in next year, who will probably stay there a good three to four years

i do agree though that they under produced, the two teams the beat that are considered "good," in my opinion are decent but not great teams, tenn is no where close to where they were last year, and gonzaga really disappointed this year

linkdapimp, I agree that they may have highly recruited and rated players, but as you know that doesn't guarantee them anything.

Again, this year I would say they have played five legit teams: Neutral XU L, @ Gtown L, Cuse L, @ Tenn W by 2, @ Zags W.

To be honest, I would say they have only played 3 legit teams. Tenn and Gonzaga are mediocre at best. In those 3 legit games, Memphis is 0-3. Point across.

well ok, let me ask you this then? tenn and gonzaga are mediocre? ok what about georgetown, they beat uconn, so what, THEY LOST TO TENN...so i know you cant say georgetown is better than tenn. xavier hasn't really beaten anyone..besides memphis.. they barely edged their conference teams, they did beat cincinnati, but thats it. xaiver is similar to memphis in that they really haven't played too many good teams....ehh syracuse is ok this year...but still you can't say that georgetown, a 16-13 team (yes i know they are in a tough conference but at one point they lost five games straight to teams like west virginia, cincinnati, and seton hall, all teams that aren't at the top of the conference) is better than tenn.

XU is a great team. Muskies have wins over Memphis, Mizzou, Va Tech, Auburn, Miami U, @Nati, Dayton, @Rhode Island, @LSU, Temple. All of those teams are either in or on the bubble. To be honest, their resume rivals our own.

I don't even remember what this whole discussion is about.....

All I can say is Calipari is in bed with World Wide Wes, who got an awful lot of press last year regarding is nebulous role in delivering talent to schools. The NCAA is slow to move, but I have to think WWW is under some serious scrutiny. The memphis program does have the most luxurious athletic dorm in the country. It's a high rise with a nice view of the Mississippi. The casinos of Tunica are 40 miles south, and Beale street won't ever card a Tiger. Plus, all you have to do is go one-on-one to the hole and kick out for three. Simple stuff that today's ball players can adsorb. Still wouldn'r want Cal at my school. He is a slimeball imho.
