Memphis???

Memphis never played/will not play a game this year against a team which will make the NCAA tournament ....unless the game is/was in Memphis. That is telling. Their toughest road game was against Houston, with 3000 screaming fans. Every place we go in the Big 12 we draw 10,000 + fans, usually more like 12,000. This is a big point regarding Memphis. We played/play 6 teams away from Austin which will make the tournament (UCLA, Tennessee, Kansas State, Michigan State, Aggy, and pick 1 from OU or Baylor or maybe Tech).

Teams in the power conferences are similar to us; Memphis get's a free ride. It will irritate me if they get a #1 seed over us in Houston since they have never had to play a road game against a team which will make the tournament. Crap, they could very well have two or three more losses if they had to play decent teams on the road. Everbody knows that home court advantage is stronger in basketball than it is in football/baseball/meat judging, etc. Memphis never faced the heat this year like teams from power conferences.

Memphis is starting to piss me off. If they get the Houston regional as a #1 seed over us because they only have the one loss.....

Take solace in the fact that to win it all a team will inevitably face the "better" teams in situations which they may not have faced during the season. One way or another we'll have to take care of business and so will Memphis. I think our experience will help us get further in the tourney than Memphis' experience. Personally, I think Memphis will get 'exposed' but they are definitely a force to be reckoned with.
