Ahh, not such a big blow. Look at the tournament so far. Allen played 4 minutes in the only close game Memphis played. He's maybe ok at running the point, but they will be fine with Rose and Kemp giving Rose a rest. Allen can't shoot worth a damn, either. 43% FT??? 31% FG??

Edit: OK, so the team might get distracted, but the starters are 3 juniors, a senior, and Rose, nearly all of whom will be looking at their last time college competition, so I think they will be focused.

What I want to know is why the original reports said Allen was suspended for violating team rules, and now we hear he failed an NCAA drug test.

It's a distraction and certainly doesn't help, but I wouldn't say 14 min & 3 pts per game is a huge loss.

What I found amusing is that in some of the articles it references Andre Allen previously had been arrested for soliciting a prostitute, but the charges were dismissed.

I'll tell ya', that is some kind of classy hoops program they have up there in Memphis. The kind of guys it's easy to root for.

What a screw up by that kid. Probably a lifetime opportunity to play in the Final Four. He's gonna regret that for the rest of his like. If Memphis happens to lose, he wonder whether he was the reason - distraction or inability to help his team.

Once he gets over the shock/dissappointment, I hope he gets some help.
