If I remember correctly, the 'Horns comeback from 6-0 at the CWS in '09 was against Mike Leake, who was probably one of the best (if not the best) pitchers in the NCAAs that year. Oh, it sure would be nice to have a "Rupp-Rowe" offense this year.

What is a "prodigious clout" anyway? Whatever it is, I want to hear Craig say it again, and again, and again this year. And I want the year to end differently than '09 did. Let's make it happen 'Horns.

i was lucky enough to be in that section when that ball was hit. I knew it was gone when it left the bat and I went ape Sh*t. I still get a kick out of seeing myself celebrate on that replay.

Any of our long-time baseball fans care to start a thread on the great games between Texas & ASU from years past?

One of my all time favorite ASU memories came in the early 90's during my senior year of college. It was a Friday afternoon game at the Disch that went deep into extra innings. In the bottom of the 13th or 14th inning and a Texas runner on third base the pitcher was induced into a walkoff balk, he promptly turned and threw the ball over the right field wall and onto Comal street. The next day the Horns won again on a walk off HR and almost got into a brawl after the game. Ahh memories.

I wasnt there but another great memory came while sitting at my computer in 2000 and listening to the Horns win back to back games over ASU on their own field to take the Tempe regional and advance to the Supers.

1985 in Tempe, drive into Sun Devils foundation parking lot with Dennis Cook's dad, they wanted to see our parking pass, so we showed them our UT parking pass and floored it. They did not come after us and let us stay in there.

After the game Jim Brock hosted a 'Texas hoedown' or some such **** for Texas players and fans. They (ASU fans and officials) had spread out several bales of hay, wore handkerchiefs around their neck, some had checkered shirts, and many wore these really cheapo straw hats that were all too small so they sit on top of their heads. It was hilarious! but they were so nice to us we couldn't make fun of them.

1984 CWS

ASU had Barry Bondy, Odibe McDowell, and Mike DeVereaux. Horns won 8-4 to go 3-0 in winner's bracket. Eventually lost to Cal St Fullerton. Can't remember their coach's name.

My memories of the games are a blur, but one thing does stand out. The white haired gentleman who would yell "SUUUUUUNNNNNNNNNN DEVVVVVVILLLLSSSSSS"

I do remember a 180lbs skinny outfielder named Barry Bonds, what ever happened to that beanpole? Oh yeah.......

That 6-0 comeback was great. i couldnt stop yelling at the tv that night after the girlfriend went to bed. Didnt stop me. Now when ever i see highlights of that game all i can see is her storming out of the bedroom pissed because now she couldnt watch the recording the next day to find out what happened.

Winning the Friday 2009 game on C Rupp's and Connor Rowe's B9 homers was my FAVORITE memory. But my second favorite memory was after that game, talking to Bill Jensen, the voice of Rosenblatt Stadium, out in the parking lot. Bill said Rupp's shot over the batting eye was the third longest homer he'd seen in the stadium. The other two were hit by pros.

Beat the HELL otta ASU!

Mitch Lambson for ASU with a shot at redemption after we saddled him with both ASU losses at the 2009 CWS. That HR by Rupp in the 9th to tie the game was epic. Lambson either made us look silly or we took him deep. Remember he struck out 5 of 6 before Rupp's HR. Then Rowe HR'd two batters later to win it. I felt bad for the kid. I'm sure he's dying to get some payback. I hope it doesn't happen.

It was Robert DeLeon ( Nacho) who hit the homerun and as he rounded third knocked the hat off of the third basemen.
